Caman da Horseley hills

"Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
In what ever comes our way
Yeah, gotta go and make it happen
Take the world in love embrace
Buy all your guns at once
And explode into space

Eye looks like the lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racing with the wind
And the feeling that I`m under
Yeah, gotta go and make it happen
Take the world in love embrace
Buy all your guns at once
And explode into space

Like a true natures` child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high, I never wanna die

Born to be wild
Born to be wild

Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
In what ever comes our way
Yeah, gotta go and make it happen
Take the world in love embrace
Buy all your guns at once
And explode into space

Like a true natures` child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high, I never wanna die

Born to be wild
Born to be wild
"

Thats how my ride with RTMC and MadBulls to the Horseley hills in AP was. It was proposed sometime soon after I became a RTMC member, and as ride-hungry I am, I did not have any second thoughts about joining the ride. It was 30 + people from RTMC and similar number of people from MadBulls coming to Horseley Hills. From RTMC we decided to start in two batches - one group of people (Nicknamed as the desparate drunkards by someone in the group!) starting early to reach Horseley hills earlier and the other group starting at 3 PM to reach there by evening time. I rode with the second group.

The ride was short and good. It was me, Girish, Keeni & his wife and Rajesh riding together, till the beginning of that small ghat section to the final ascent to Horseley. Thats when I started riding fast and I was up in the resort by 6.30. Overall the ride was fun. David from MadBulls made sure that everyone gets a place to stay as and when they arrive.

The whole of Horseley hills is occupied by the resort run by AP tourism and it is full of cottages and facilities like swimming pool, restaurant & bar.

After we freshened up it was time for the party. All of us gathered in the party area, the resort guys had arranged for bonfire & snacks and drinks were served nearby. Then the party started. Cold winds blowing, drinks flowing and fire made the atmosphere light ;), the songs played by Dosai were really cool & included the likes of sutta and XLRI song on danda ;). Everyone enjoyed it to the core.

The party went on with people chatting, drinking and having fun. I felt cold and was too lazy to move around to click pictures & so I clicked a few pictures of the fire.

Moments later tiger showed up, in full spirits, and I caught one such moment on my camera. He travelled with two 'water bottles' from his home. One containing a frozen old monk mixture & other containing delicious butter milk! The combo was pretty new to most of us! He sported a T shirt from Rider Mania 2007. The T-shirt from RM 07 is similar to the one from RM 06 except for the year change. Rider mania was held in Nagpur this year, hosted by RE and WanderLust, the Nagpur RE riders' club.

Keeni looked so happy with his drinks! His wife was seated by fire and so he had all the liberty - just see! I met many new people and also the people whose names/nicknames I had heard/read so far on the list. Some of the people were already familiar through the earlier rides.

I went back to our room by 12 and slept in peace, though the snoring blitzkreig from Keeni sounded almost like a bullet passing by - in fact the loudest I have witnessed so far, Rajesh was not so lucky to get sleep & spent all his night listening to the sounds and talking to all his friends on phone. He went to sleep at 4.30 AM finally & when he woke up he found dozens of SMSes from wellwishers wishing that he gets some rest in the circumstances!

We went for a morning walk and then Rajesh shared the adventures he had in the night time! After a while we had our breakfast and were ready to move back to Bangalore/Chennai. By 10.30 AM we were on the roads.

For the return leg we chose to take a different route, and as it turned out later the route was fantastic! It was around 60 kms more than the other route but was very well maintained national highway full of curves/greenery and was a pleasure to ride on those roads.

Home is not far!

The return leg was a good ride and we had couple of long breaks for lunch/coffee/tea & after all I reached my home by 5 PM. This was one 'fun' ride and true to its 'Caman Da Enjaaiment' logo RTMC group rocked!

Looking forward to more rides.
